Senior Consultant
Scott McDowell brings over ten years of business experience in leadership and career development to his work as an executive coach. Scott's coaching approach is focused on developing heightened self-awareness, illuminating connections, building on positive relationships and initiating action towards attainable goals to produce tangible business results. He has coached entrepreneurs, high-potential employees, consultants, non-profit leaders and creative professionals. Past clients include both start-up and multinational corporations in diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals, technology, manufacturing, non-profit, education, professional and financial services.
Scott has worked extensively in recruitment as an executive search consultant and project manager, frequently interviewing VP- and C-level candidates from a wide variety of industries and functional areas. The early part of his career was spent as a television producer with MTV Networks where he produced a range of daily and weekly programming, including the flagship alternative music video show, 120 Minutes.
Scott earned his BA from Connecticut College in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, where he won the Benjamin T. Marshall Prize for poetry. He is a graduate of the International Coach Academy's Certified Professional Coach Program. Scott has trained at the Gestalt Center for Organization and Systems Development in Cleveland, and is pursuing coaching accreditation from the International Coach Federation.
Until 2008, Scott was a director and nominating committee chair for Project Acorn, a non-profit organization that provides preschool funding to families in need. He is also a graduate of Leadership Morris, Class of 2005, and an on-air DJ at WFMU.
